Alexandra Swonder joined CBWNY's faculty in 2006. Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, she attended the University at Buffalo with a BA in dance and a Masters degree in education. She is trained in Modern, Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, and has attended workshops at Toronto Dance Theatre, Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Limone Dance Company, and Bill T. Jones Dance Company.

Miss Lexi is a full-time staff member at Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts where she teaches dance, develops curriculum, as well as teaches other areas of the performing arts including Musical Theatre, Stage Management, and Lighting Design.
​
In her free time, Miss Lexi enjoys reading, gardening, bird watching, and photography with her husband and son.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for dance students?
A: Don't be afraid to make mistakes or try something new. Trust in the process and be open to what happens along the way.

A: So many! I can't pick one.
